| Playing the Odds |
I actually never thought the day would come, I actually had to ask my daughter a few times just to see if it was true. To grasp the true depth of this I have to give you some background. My 5 year old daughter has one goal in her life, aside from wanting a horse. And that is to have hair as long as Rapunzel's. This whole bit about hair to the floor isn't a new thing, actually it's a been a good two years of her saying it. All thanks to one of her Barbie movies which tells a story about the Princess.
You see Anna had this friend, a best friend in fact who's name is Skylar. Skylar is a year older then Anna, and this fall they will be attending the same school as Anna starts Kindergarten. When we first met Skylar 2 years ago she had shoulder length hair, and as time passes it gets shorter and shorter. You see Skylar has an older sister who cuts her hair shorter and shorter. It fits Michaela's personality being a rocker type chick having it short and spiked like a boys. Skylar likes to follower her sister, her hair is now off her neck, but still barely able to be tucked behind her ears. You'll never guess what Anna wants her hair to be cut like? Yup Skylar. She informed my Mom and I of this on Sunday, well today is Thursday. Grandma and Grandpa day, and also the day for her haircut. Will she go thru with it? Or back out at the last minute?
Oh, and for clarification Anna is not being allowed to chop her hair off. Currently it's about an inch or two below her belt line, she needs to get is cut a few inches either way. But I've allowed the shortest length to be at least 2 inches below her shoulder . . . scratch that just got off the phone with my Mom I'll allow her to get her hair cut to the outside shoulder. They'll be leaving shortly, so come noon when they pick me up for lunch we'll see how short it got cut.
- H. P.S. No need to raise your hand, my Mom will ask about donating her hair to 'Locks For Love' before it's cut. |

| Never Grow Up |
Things I think I'll never out grow no matter how old I get: ~ Trips to Toys R' Us ~ The yummy taste of cheese paper ~ Cartoons ~ Disney ~ Girly Movies (Plan on being a girl the rest of my life ^_^) ~ Playing in the rain, jumping in puddles ~ Playing in the sand at the beach (My sand castles still look like lumps of sand) ~ Picking on my brothers ~ Making sound effects (with and without knowing it) ~ Playing Candyland (The game fricken rocks!) ~ Animal slippers
I could go on forever, but that might be setting myself up for a life time worth of reticule. Are there things you plan on never outgrowing?Labels: Random |
