Playing Catch-up [Part III]
Christmas:
I'm happy to say that my daughter didn't open her presents while I was sleeping. This is the first year that's she's really grasped the concept of Christmas. And even did the bit where she asks if it's Christmas yet, and then tries to convince me thru a long chain of "Yes it Is" that it was Christmas. Well she got to open her bike, well it was reveled to her when I drew back the blinds so that she could see the surprise waiting for her on the porch. Well we both put shoes on, and made sure our robes were secured tightly around our jammas before we went for a bike ride around our apartment building. Biking is still a new concept to her so it'll take her a few rides till she feels secure enough with being able to stop the bike without bailing out.

With our other presents gathered and put into the car, as well as everything needed to make deviled eggs and fruit salad we drove over to my parent's house to spend the day. Oh did you notice I didn't mention anything about bringing a change of clothes, it's cause I didn't. Anna and I had every intention of spending the whole day in out pj's. Perhaps I should explain this to you, my brother, sister and Mom all have to work today. Which means gifts will be done at night, it's against all things Christmas to open gifts not in pj's. Well the good news is that My mom was put on call, which meant she was home all day. My little brother spent most of his time in the kitchen making dinner (Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc). Jeremy and Taysia were due home around 3:30 so we'd eat around 4:00. My mom gave each of us a gift in the morning, to hold us over till that evening. My gift was Gilmore Girls Season 3, which I began watching right away as I ate a Cinnamon roll. It was about 11:00am when I started feeling crapy. Only ate half of my beloved homemade cinnamon roll . . . then the headache set in . . . then I was hot, only to find myself freezing the next minute. Oh did I mention my dad got sick on Thursday? Ya he was wrapped up on the second couch hacking up a lung now and then.

So in short I made about half of the deviled eggs I had planned and completely axed the fruit salad. Dinner was great, very yummy even though it didn't take a ton to fill me up. I was taking anti-headache pain medication every 4 hours on the dot to keep the threatening pain at bay. Opening gifts was fun, even if it was a little crazy. I got tears out of my mom from my gift, a nice bonus. And I think everyone enjoyed their gifts from me, at least I can hope they did. I got wonderful gifts from everyone. I really fun game from Taysia and Jeremy, cool how to draw Anime and Chibi's from my little brother and a cute Furby from my daughter. My parents were wonderful with their gifts and luckily everything fit in my car without having to strap my daughter to the hood. I called it an early night after one round of Seen It, which Melanie and I won with great skill.
