It Lingers
Have you ever watched a movie and have it linger with you for a few days? Some movies do that to me, like last night. My brother and sister-in-law rented Domino, a movie that I had been wanting to see. My brother warned me that it was kind of dark, not a movie for my daughter to be around as I watch. Hmm a movie about a bounty hunter given the filming style from the previews that was a 'Duh' to me. So while she stayed upstairs with my parents I watched the movie downstairs, oddly enough ignoring the dinner in front of me.

I LOVED the movie. I'm not exactly sure what it was about the movie that's nagging at me, I think I need to watch it a second time. The only thing that I can think of that would haunt me is the character Choco . . . not that he's all psychotic (something about that I found myself giggling about). I think it was the looks he'd gave Domino, from the beginning you're informed that he has a crush on her but doesn't do anything about it. It's those long . . . deep side glances that he shoots across the room, every once in a while to each other. Convaying so much emotion in such a simple act. I think that's what gets me . . . seeing such a tough guy being slowly tortured by the love he feels for someone else.

Maybe it's that typical bad-boy thing girls go after, not that he's really one of them. Just a slightly crazy guy who finds peace and madness when he looks at this one person.

Perhaps I'm the one with the issues, my two favorite movie couples aren't your typical happy endings. In Last of the Mohicans Uncac and Alice never speak of their love, just those passionate glances and then joined together in death. So poetic . . . and now Domino and Choco. Another couple that spend the whole movie apart and finally give into each other taking the plunge only to be parted in death a few hours later.

I think it's those longing looks that I miss and love so much . . . {sigh}
