| Siblings |
There's more to being a sibling then just sharing the same bloodline, true you have an all-access pass to taking out any anger issues on them . . . teasing, pick on 'em, rubbing their face in a loss after 15 rounds of Rock-Paper-Scissors. The list can become end-less if I spend too much time thinking about it but I'm getting off the subject. My point is that there is another side of the coin, something as an only girl can attest to, having had two protective brothers. True they can chase away the hot looking bad-boys, but they're there to get your back if you need it.
Last night my brother was the one who needed it, so me, my little brother and even my daughter were there to support him thru his suffering. Postponing my shower I drove over and picked the two up. You see someone, who will remain nameless, crossed the line embarrassing my brother by getting a restaurant full of wait-staff to sing happy birthday to him. You see if I was there I could at least take partial credit for the embarrassment as is my right as a sister, but this was done without my presents. Hearing that she had been warned several times not to, revenge was a must.
I had to do it, my brother needed closure. Besides it was done with LOVE. You see we have spies all around, it's kind of hard to feel too bad when you get her Mom's approval to decorate her car for her . .. then get a call from her sister 2 states away all excited about it.
You know what the benefit is of having a daughter? The 10 pack of bathtub crayons at the house to write loving notes, add some Aloe Vera gel to some door handles and wipers then wrap the cute little VW in 500 ft of plastic wrap. What else could you do except take pictures with your cell phone. *chuckles* My daughter even drew a few pictures on the window (herself, a whale and an ear to be exact).
As my brother so poetically said, "The Family that vandalizes together stays together." Oddly enough it was my first car decorating party, just so you all know it's very obvious that my brother's weren't knew to this. |
